I interviewed Rachel some time late in Nov 2018 in the midst of my house renovation. My first concern was whether the house could be sold and settled by 30 June 2019, before the onset of winter. She was more than reassuring and suggested some areas in the house that I could enhance. Her knowledge of the housing market and her dynamism demonstrated her capabilities in selling the house . Even when I was not around, she managed to co-ordinate with my assigned tradesmen to get the house in ship-shape before the second week of Jan 2019. Subsequently, she organised several open houses for sale in 2019. There were some arrangements which nearly led to sale . But some problems emerged in the sales process with customers having inadequate funds or problems with contra sale of the buyers. Despite several setbacks, she was optimistic of the prospects of sale in the challenging market. I even lowered the price at Rachel's suggestion, but the sale was not to be. I was in a state of despair in the first week of April. I told her I will move back soon if there was no sale soon . But her perseverance and resilience demonstrated that she could wait for another two to three more weeks to clinch a deal. Then one day a prospective buyer offered a price to Rachel in the second week of April 2019. She was elated and contacted me, although the price was lower than I quoted. I just grabbed the offer, but I had to wait for the buyer's Finance approval. May came and there was a Finance Waiver from the Real estate agent of the buyer. I was perplexed . Again, Rachel enlightened me of the implications of the Waiver. Then in the middle of June, there was an email from Rachel's recommended Settlement Agency. The Settlement was scheduled on 11 June. I had waited for it for two months. When all the formalities were completed for Settlement, I reflected on what Rachel told me in Nov 2018. Rachel DID keep her word that the house would be sold and settled by 30 June 2019!
