I have been a property manager for almost 20 years, giving me a pretty close view of the sales departments over the years. When my husband and I came across Ray Murphy I was extremely impressed with his actual ability to negotiate between a seller and buyer. The old fashioned agent that will drive backwards and forwards to ensure there is a signed contract and a deal is put together. After looking in Cairns for the last 6 months it was refreshing to see his commitment.

Ray seems like a genuinely decent and honest agent, however, in retrospect I was extremely disappointed with the advice I was given. I was unable to be in the area prior to the sale of my property that was being rented out at the time and although ultimately I should have paid more attention to the photo's and advertising of my home I accepted Ray knew what he was doing. Anyone who looks at the photo's and advertising of my home would be shocked at the standard and it's no wonder we got very little interest. At no time was I advised of the state of the home nor given any advice to pay to get it cleaned up prior to throwing money away on extremely poor photo's/advertising. Based purely on this I would not recommend Ray/Remax if you're relying on them for good advice and/or are new to the real estate market. Do what I didn't and do your homework when looking for an agent.

Ray knows his market conditions very well and has a wide network of contacts. His advice was spot on and he made the process of selling very easy for us. Ray shielded us from some rather trying circumstances created by our buyer. He worked very hard to achieve a better than expected result, remaining cheerful, positive and professional throughout.
