Snap lockdown no problem for Robert at O'Brien Brighton
After a short, sharp and in the end highly successful campaign to sell my Brighton home, conducted by Robert Eierweis of O’Brien Brighton, I’m pleased to join the chorus of happy vendor referees.
My earlier quick decision to downsize with a tree change to regional Victoria called for prompt action to sell in Brighton. Robert, within a couple of days, put in place a well thought out campaign based on his in-depth knowledge of the local real estate scene, listing in a realistic price bracket and selling by auction. During the four weeks of inspections leading up to auction day he engaged very proactively with all potential buyers and kept me up to date throughout on buyer interest, opinions and comments.
The house was our family home and home office for 27 years. We lovingly maintained and updated to keep it comfortable, without renovating it to the standard seen in many competing properties in the area. Robert helped me understand the type of buyers that may be interested in the property – developers to home buyers, renovators to investors. He provided continued feedback from prospective buyers, markedly alleviating my anxiety.
Perhaps most notable was Robert’s initiative, drive, and flexibility, remarkably demonstrated by his response to Victoria being subject to a ‘snap lockdown’ less than two days prior to the scheduled auction. Robert hastily organised an auction on the day that the lockdown was announced, contacting all previous viewers and prospective buyers. Incredibly, our home was ‘on the market’ at the very first bid, with the final hammer falling for a price beyond my loftiest aspirations. Arguably, this strategy was not without risk – but the result is testament to Robert’s excellent campaign implementation and management, dogged commitment to exceeding seller expectations, and ‘can do’ attitude. Importantly, the purchaser also seemed thrilled to secure our home and will no doubt enjoy it as much as we have.
