We had a very unpleasant and forgettable experience in our dealings with Rob and his principal on a property purchase whereby there were a number of unapproved structures and home improvements that we were forced to deal with, despite this being a condition of our offer to purchase. As a buyer the importance of disclosing information that is to be relied upon is paramount and all you are seeking is some transparency but in this respect we felt that Rob was not a particularly upfront person and, once we had purchased the property we were left very disappointed as what should have been a simple and enjoyable process took over 7 long and tedious months to address, as the buildings in question, despite his assurances and sales rhetoric had not been approved by council and we had to subsequently seek retrospective approval from the local authorities with little help or support from Rob. In this respect and our dealings with Rob we found him to be very lazy, very unconscionable and unprofessional and lacking integrity on important matters and when our concerns or issues were raised these appeared to be more of an inconvenience to him and he would simply tell us we needed to follow this up with the settlement agents. Subsequently points raised were often not addressed creating further delays and upon settlement inspection items that were said to be repaired or fixed were still requiring remedial works . To this end communication from Rob was extremely poor, and given our concerns regarding the unapproved buildings from the outset these were heightened as he would often not reply to emails or answer simple and direct questions regarding the condition of the property and the approvals process, and this was very important to us to be able to make informed decisions. I would not recommend Rob to any prospective buyers or vendors for that matter as it became evident very quickly to us that Rob could not be relied upon and sadly we found him to be quite untrustworthy.
As a first time house buyer, it took us a while to decide which house to pick and we don't have any idea on how the process works in buying a house. With the help of our agent, Rob, he made it easier for us. He is well-experienced and professional with his work. Another thing that I appreciate the most is that every time I ring him for questions or updates, he always make a time to answer and he is willing to help me with any of my concerns.
