As most people might know, real estate agents could lie to your face or not tell you the truth. When I first met Scott, I didn't know much about him i.e experience in the industry, knowledge of the area, tertiary qualification etc... It was my first time entering the Brisbane property market and to be honest, I really didn't know what I was getting into. Scott was very kind to drive me around NEW FARM precinct and show me the parks, popular restaurants, cafes, desirable areas, amenities and so forth. At that moment, I knew that Scott was an expert on the area. He also introduced himself and talked about his past industry experience (not in a devious way). During the negotiation, Scott was very straight forward, upfront and proactive compared to other agents out there. I was purchasing a property from scott and found him to be very honest, transparent, reliable, and well informed. These traits - in particular the honesty - have been lacking in the vast majority of real estate agents I have dealt with when I have been both buyer and seller. Scott did of course drive a hard bargain on behalf of the seller.

We had two joint Venture properties in Newstead. One a original Queenslander and a new house we built at the back of it. As is our practice we invited appraisals from 3 agents. Surprisingly there was not a great deal of difference between them. I checked out Scott Darwon on Rate my Agent and saw he and Ivo were the best selling team for houses in New Farm and Newstead. That encouraged me to suggest to my business partner to give him a go. We were pretty tough on what we wanted for the property and Scott went as far as to say he would get us an offer within a couple of weeks. He did ...even though it was a bit off the mark. However within 3 weeks he had a good conditional offer for the back house which we accepted. For the front house we raised the bar, but a short time later Scott had a conditional offer and backed it up with an unconditional offer from another buyer. Impressive. Scott made the process of selling my townhouse straightforward with many practical suggestions upfront. When it came to negotiating the selling price I told him it was too high but fortunately he didn't listen to me (the only time this happened!) and he secured the full asking price! I was ecstatic !
