Selena is a well-known and a recognised member of Burnie and its surrounding communities. Over the years Selena has been heavily involved in various sporting communities and this is now recurring with her children's activities. Selena still has strong links to the employment sector and has, on occasion, been a guest speaker to job search training groups. Selena speaks at local charity events regularly and is a McGrath Foundation, Dry July and Flickering Memories Ambassador, roles she takes much pride in. Selena is also a spokesperson for Breast Cancer Early Diagnosis and has recently been appointed as a committee member for Cancer Council Tasmania.
