I really enjoyed working with Shane Hicks over the past 5 weeks preparing the historic dwelling in a deceased estate for an auction. I was the principal executor and trustee of the estate of a single woman who unusually had no close relatives and where the Heart Foundation was the sole beneficiary. I had to rely heavily on Place for the strong and sensitive marketing for an iconic old Queenslander with some obvious limitations in terms of it having only 2 bedrooms and the one bathroom. Shane and his hard working staff were great communicators and they gave me sound practical advice on how best to present this special property for sale. I never felt pressured by them on any query or suggestion and they respected my final decision on all such matters. Most importantly they kept me regularly updated on what was a brilliant ‘on line’ marketing campaign with a limited number of open house inspection periods. The overall time line for the sale from listing to auction was less than 4 weeks but all the activities of Shane and his team were very much focussed on getting a good result for the estate. The recommended off site auction was very professionally conducted and both the charitable beneficiary of the estate and myself were delighted at the final outcome. The property was sold at a fair price to a family who will enlarge the dwelling but maintain the integrity of this beautiful structure which is over 100 years old.
