I have always viewed real estate agents with a degree of suspicion, not knowing if they are acting mostly on their own behalf or leaning towards the seller or buyer. Shane had recently done a great job selling my mothers house and so we decided to take him on over the agent who had sold us the place, who we had maintained contact with. Shane was open and honest in giving us an appraisal and while I think he would have preferred us to go to auction we wanted to go through a more traditional sales method. Everything ran incredibly smoothly from start to finish, his photographer made our place look amazing, and his selling skills, which is whty we chose him, got us 5 contracts on our first open house, with the house sold unconditionally well above our expected price by 5:30 that afternoon. In the end we were happy with the sale price of our house. Just felt that Shane could have negotiated a bit more with potential buyers. Also I was a little disappointed that when the house was sold at auction that was it! Place had their money, that's what it felt like. The extra service touch would have made a world of difference , maybe a bottle of champagne or something......it doesn't take much.
