Being interstate buyers is hard, especially when you cant inspect a property in person. This was our biggest challenge as we were looking for an investment property, he spoke to my son prior to me and gave a lot of useful information in regards to how DHA properties work. Our biggest headache was the issues that arose in the property during contract stage, as the property got flooded due to the rains and we had no confidence in the property whatsoever. On the verge of cancelling and pulling out of the contract, my chat with Shanel gave me a lot of confidence to get answers to the questions we had regarding the state of the property and what would be done to recertify the issues. After asking me to give him a day or two, he spoke with multiple parties that I did not have authorization(Owner, Body Corp, Building Manager, DHA and Contactors) in order to give me a clear understanding of who would cover the damage caused by the leak. The extensive emails he provided me at that stage, honestly made me believe that he was actually doing more work than the body corporate in order to get these issues fixed up. I really was disappointed at the lack of responsibility that other companies took and it became a whole blame passing game at one point rather than the issues been rectified. If not for the constant follow ups by him and emails back and forth in order to ensure that the work will be carried out as promised, we would have pulled out of this sale without a doubt. We all really appreciate your hard efforts and determination to get this deal across for all parties involved and moreover you patience with us and handling the whole situation without you loosing your cool one bit. With little to no relationship with him prior to selling, I chose Shanel over few other agents as he just knew how to negotiate in order to secure the listing. I found him to be very smart and confident during our first conversation which was then a no brainer for me for me to chose him to represent me. During the sales stage he kept me updated constantly with the movement and buyer activity and also actively engaging me in the decision making. Although he did get a great offer at the start and nothing compared to that after that buyer backed out, I was happy to take his advice with the sale as he was able to show me the value of the offer I had. What I cant thank him enough for is the dedication and extra efforts that he then went into sorting out tradespeople for a job and that too before Christmas. Using his contacts he got the job done for half the price that I was initially quoted, but also ensured that the buyer trust him and waive the building and pest clause regarding the issue we had. He ensured that work was going to be undertaken and completed to the buyers satisfaction as I had to deal with a buyer who wanted everything their way. After speaking with him post settlement, I gathered that the buyer too was very happy with his services and trusted him a lot. Its extremely rare to come across an agent who goes beyond what's required in order to ensure all parties are happy post settlement. I will definitely be recommending you to anyone who wants to sell I cant thank you enough for the time you took away during your break period to ensure a successful and smooth transaction in every regard. Shanel was handling the sale of my mom's property and this was a very stressful time for us, given everything that was going on in the background. I simply cannot put into words the efforts he took to get this sale across the line for us. From uncountable number of inspections, to multiple contracts, to dealing with solicitors and a disgruntled site manager who wouldn't help and on top of that, external pressure from other parties involved in stopping this sale. Even with multiple legal threats to scare him off, he simply did not let anything faze him at all until the deal was done. Being an interstate seller, I was a bit nervy selling through an agent I did not know at all. The first call gave me a lot of confidence in the agent and his ability to manage a quick and easy sale. Got the price he promised within 2 open homes and made the process really easy for me. Quick Settlement as promised with no stress at all. Provided plenty of referrals for all my needs. After multiple agents and multiple failed campaigns, I was disappointed to say the least. I gave up for a while in all honesty as it was just too stressful for me at this age. Finally I spoke with my daughter and decided to give Shanel a chance to sell this for us. And wow! What a turn around it was, I was blown away on the first inspection he ran as I had never seen that many people who wanted to inspect my place with any other agents combined together. Within the first open home, multiple offers. The first couple of opens were so busy that it ran 30 minutes overtime as I sat in my car. The turn around he brought with his strategy put me in a position where I was having to go through many similar offers in order to pick who I wanted sell my property to in the end. I still remember the bitter-sweet moment of handing over my keys for the final time as we all hugged and I said my goodbyes to my beautiful house that looked after me well. It was a very emotional day for me to finally say goodbye, but very well knowing Shanel chose the right buyers for me, a young couple who would look after this property the same way I had. It gave me happiness that it was bought by truly deserving buyers. To this day he is still in touch with me. Although in the end I regret selling my property, he kept to his promises and provided assistance in all aspects of the sale. I do regret selling this property as I never found something as good as mine but given the opportunities he presented at the start, I do regret not purchasing something at that time. All in all, I wished I never sold but given the circumstances, Shanel worked tirelessly to put every opportunity he got my way. From driving me to open homes and talking to other agents in order to secure a property for me, he tried his best to help me out. Only reason I give him 5 stars is for the efforts and time he spent throughout, even when he was away from the country during a certain time, he maintained communication.
