Simon was the third agent I signed to sell my 1890’s Paddington terrace. I should have picked him first. Never any pressure. No attempt to manipulate me. He always kept me updated. We met Simon Doak more than 20 years ago and intermittently crossed paths and sought his advice occasionally as to whether we should sell our home. Simon’s advice was proven to be of a high quality and sincere. It never came with the afterthought ‘but if you decide to sell, I would love to act as your agent’. We first engaged Simon in 2015 to sell a property of an elderly woman who we were assisting. She had lived in the property all her life. Simon took it on board and achieved a result that was far more than ever expected. More importantly was Simon’s interaction with this elderly woman who had lived alone for nearly 40 years. His patience, understanding and respect for her was exemplary. This time it is our home of 36 years that we engaged Simon and Alana Williams to sell for us. This home represents the lives and memories of bringing up our 2 sons. The decision to sell, as Simon will attest, resulted in tears. Leaving our home will be a solemn day. Both Alana and Simon understood and tolerated our emotions, removed the ‘bullshit’ surrounding the sale expectations and most importantly project managed the marketing campaign so that we did not have to traverse the grind. Feedback was constant, and despite the Covid lockdown interfering with the campaign and planned auction, neither Alana nor Simon let their efforts wane. Numerous conversations were held debating the benefits or otherwise of our options under the lockdown. For several reasons, we decided that delaying the campaign and the sale process was not what we wished. Simon’s suggestion was a hybrid of what we thought the options were. This has secured us a solid result and will allow us to move on to our future forever home. Witnessing Alana and Simon’s efforts and their offer to assist us in choosing our next home only adds to our admiration of their professionalism and likeability as people who truly care about their clients – us!
