We chose Biggin & Scott, Maribyrnong for the sale of our property as they are a local agent. It seemed as though every house for sale in our neighbourhood had a Biggin & Scott board! Our first impression of Simon was trustworthy and honest, and just a really nice bloke. You hear so many horror stories of Real Estate Agents that do not have the vendor’s best interests at heart – that they are just driven by commission. We did not get this sense from Simon and we were 100% right. Simon has a very broad knowledge of both the area we were selling in, and the areas we were looking to buy in. His expertise clearly comes from years of living and working and being immersed in the area. His advice through the sale process was honest, well-thought out and clever given the differing scenarios we presented him with. We went from thinking about auction, to private sale, to putting the entire sale on hold. Simon was incredibly patient through our decision-making process and only a phone call away for any advice. Being able to flex and change with what we wanted to do was very important to us and Simon absolutely delivered, even calling in for a chat on a Friday night if needed. The sale process was seamless. Simon kept us informed every step of the way, and was incredibly responsive to any communication. We absolutely got a great price! Simon’s advice not only through selling but also advice and assistance with buying a new home well and truly exceeded our expectations! Sharing knowledge of other agents, advising on auction tactics and smoothing the way with his colleagues in other real estate agencies was an absolute bonus. Simon Gray is truly an outstanding agent, and we would definitely recommend him to anyone looking to sell (or buy), and will definitely be using Simon’s services again in the future.

Simon is GREAT. However, I wasn't impressed with the overall process, and what I mean is no photo of the property on the 'for sale' board, very poor photos and lack of photos of key parts of the property, which together with a very very basic ad, is in my opinion a leading factor to why I didn't receive the expected sale price. I was also not comfortable with the strategy they used to advertise the property at a much lower price to get interest and raise the price a week prior to auction.... The auctioneer could have been better too, he knew little about the property and seemed to be whinging it on the day, and as such he didn't highlight any key features this property had to offer (major points of difference to other similar properties in the street) - such as the property having exclusive access to Highpoint - he even pointed in the wrong direction saying 'walking distance to Highpoint shopping centre'... Collaboratively, I do believe this contributed to the undesired sale price. One of their 'point of differences' was that they would have 4 people at the auction to prompt buyers and answer questions as the auction is in process... this too didn't happen. I will say, that all in all, every representative I dealt with were very nice, but do you really get what they promise, I think not. Simon seems to be a genuinely nice guy making it very easy and a pleasant experience to deal with. Simon was also very responsive to all of my calls and emails during and post sale.

Simon has given good communication throughout the process and has been helpful with his market knowledge of the area. He is a hard working agent, willing to spend the time to explain information he had gathered whether bad or good news. He was also quick to respond to enquiries. Thanks for your time and efforts
