Our experience buying our first home is one we would like to forget to be honest! A 60 day settlement was arranged due to the tenants in the property needed to be given notice, however, they agent failed to provide the property manager sufficient notice when the contract was signed, and it was provided only upon settlement. Therefore, we could not move into our new home upon settlement date. The tenants advised they were moving out into their newly built home the end of January, but took the advantage of the extra time they were conveniently provided by the agent. We were also in a rental and had to continue to pay rent for the extra time and extend our notice period. There was zero compensation offered and we were barely consulted in the matter. Unfortunately due to the wait time, we are now moving into the home (with me being 8 months pregnant) less than ideal circumstances! Overall, we love our new home but the process was extremely stressful and I would recommend you cross check every single detail!
