It has taken us some time to write this review because this was genuinely one of the worst property transactions we have experienced. We purchased a home through Tom and his team, and from start to finish the communication, professionalism and accountability were extremely disappointing. Settlement day should have been exciting, especially after purchasing what was marketed as a premium home. Instead, we arrived to complete chaos. Despite requesting early possession well in advance, it appeared to have been forgotten by both Tom and the sellers. The property was handed over in an unacceptable condition. The house was filthy, furniture and belongings had been left behind, there were dead rats and dog faeces, multiple wires had been cut, the oven did not work, the water tank pump was broken, and the pool contained so much chlorine it burnt our 2 year olds hand. The sellers also removed pool equipment that was included in the contract. What made the situation worse was the lack of accountability. Tom never came to inspect the property himself or assist in resolving the issues. His assistant Jesse was left trying to manage the situation while we dealt with the stress ourselves. In the end, we contacted our own selling agent, who came immediately and said she had never seen a handover in such poor condition. She stayed for over three hours helping organise cleaners because the property was not fit to move into. After we raised our concerns, Tom eventually paid the cleaning invoice and provided a gift card, but throughout the process there was very little communication or genuine ownership of the situation. Based on our experience, we would not recommend Tom. If purchasing through any agency, ensure strict cleaning and working order clauses are included in your contract, as unfortunately these things cannot be assumed.
