Trust your gut
I met Fil in 2012 the year i bought my house in Illawarra road, i was a regular at all the open homes in the area.
I had been employed previously in the Real Estate sales and was confident i knew what to look for in an agent that was interested in really getting to know his or her client, or simply a "shark" with "commission breath."
I had mentioned to him even back then, that if and when i sold that i would not feel comfortable with anyone else.
I had by chance spoken to Raine & Horne about managing the property, and at that time was not thinking of selling at all - had it not been for Fil's candid sms about open home numbers, and now being a great time to list.
I had him swing by weeks before i listed, and he made a few suggestions that would aid me in presenting the property in its strongest light. Remembering, that although i used to do the same job, its different on the other side of the fence.
I did as he instructed, even surprising him that i did so exactly to the letter, and to underline how "in touch" he was with how exactly to get the best "bang for buck" in a small reno that when i was finished, it was the only time having owned the property that i actually liked looking at it, and living there.
Through the auction campaign he, Catherine and Micheal were absolute in their flow of information (email), communication regarding open homes, and the associated comments from buyers.
I have to admit, regardless of how many auctions i had booked and attended, i was literally sweating bullets in the days leading up to the auction.
On the day Fil gave me an assurance that at very least, we had dotted every i, and kicked over every rock in our campaign. It had been exhaustive at times, and at times a touch confronting but - i knew i had been well directed and in so doing, giving my all to get the best result.
The auction was a bit a of a blur.
Honest - afterwards i walked into the carpark and screamed in jubilation and relief!
