I thought the poor reputation of agents as being lazy and sales focussed was an old wives tale until I had a BAD experience with another agent. In stepped Tony. Bill was always emphapetic.( I may have just made up a word here) He gave continual feedback and advice. Bill had an excellent knowledge of the market. I was impressed by his professionalism by always making sure that we were on the same page. His advice was invaluable during the selling process. I initially chose Bill as my agent as I was impressed by how he presented. Estate agents have a low reputation when it comes to getting a property, but I found Bill to be extremely personable and at no stage did I feel any pressure to sign with him. He gave advice re my property and did so in a low key way - which I very much appreciated. At no stage did he ask whether I had contacted other agents. He just seemed to be a genuine person which won me over. Bill has also been very keen to keep in touch with me after the sale of the property. This has also impressed me. He is not a person who feels - got the sale, now to my next sale - he has always shown interest in following up after the sale - such as "if you find a new property you are interested in let me know and I will investigate for you" - I highly recommend Bill Karp ( even if he is a Collingwood supporter!!!).
