The house was sold at Auction with Mr Andrew Summons as auctioneer. The Auction and preceding campaign went smoothly and successfully and the outcome was above our expectation. Mr Summons and his team (Andrew James, Lauchlan Waterfield and Walter Summons) provided continuing feedback and followed up thoroughly on prospective buyers’ questions. Mid campaign meetings kept us fully informed of progress and very useful advice was given prior to auction day. The auction itself was very well staffed with support to bidders and especially support to us when we needed to decide on when to actually say that the house was on the market. Our auction stalled briefly at a figure just below the reserve and having a highly experienced member of the team with us at that moment helped immensely. Eventually, once the house was put on the market with their advice, a bidding war took the price up significantly. This indicates the value of the support given to us. Their advertising bill was sensible and fair and even coming in under budget. The campaign was short and effective. The human relation skills exercised by all staff were excellent. As for the auctioneer, Mr Summons is a very experienced auctioneer who we have seen conducting auctions in our area for 25 years, possibly more. He knows the psychology of the business well and he has a highly developed sense in auctions as to exactly when to act and in what way. We were extremely satisfied with hockingstuart’s handling of our sale and with the result.

this is my first dealing with Andrew and the team at Hocking Stuart, and i was most impressed. the campaign was very professionally managed, and i was updated after every open for inspection. i was particularly impressed with the way they managed the price expectation, building momentum as the campaign progressed.
