
I had been searching for my property close to 6 months and most agents that I had met in the course of my search were either downright rude or distantly polite. Most asked me what my search criteria and budget were, but none followed up. I was included in many mass mailing lists of property firms though. I suppose that meant agents were 'following up'. Then I met Craig, the lovely gentleman, who gave me a lovely tour of a lovely property. From the very start, Craig's demeanour put me at ease. In most of my viewings, agents would just stand in a corner and let you roam around the house on your own. Questions were answered with very short or monosyllabic answers. With Craig, he actually promoted the property. He would walk with you as he highlighted the strengths of the property and how to go about its weaknesses. So naturally I felt very at ease with him. No questions seemed too stupid for him. At the end of the viewing, Craig asked me the standard questions. I gave him my answers expecting more emails from Charlotte Peterswald's new listings. But to my surprise, Craig called me back for a property viewing shortly after and in less than a month, found me a property well within my budget and criteria. As a first time buyer, the process of the sale was extremely pressuring due to the tight deadlines and my ignorance of the process. Craig always handled all of my requests with much aplomb and kindness. From the vendor's perspective, if you think Craig wouldn't work in your best interest, then let me tell you that Craig didn't go easy on me during negotiations either.
