John was insistent on auctioning the property with only 14 days of advertising and two public viewings. Eight days after the listing he strongly advised the auction be cancelled. He suggested a fixed price, which was below his, and other agents, initial market appraisal. I decided it should be increased by $10,000 having researched the local market. Just two days after listing I was offered my asking price the same day the buyers first viewed the property. John knew there were very few properties available in this highly desired area, and after eight days of listing he panicked because although there had been a number of viewings, people had not requested copies of the sale contract to take away. The biggest concern, I felt, was that he expected a result too quickly, as he had not allowed sufficient time for buyers to learn the property was available. I was very disturbed, as was my solicitor, that John was contacting her direct without my knowledge. John is a friendly and pleasant personality but I was disappointed in the way he managed the sale.
