We were surprised and disappointed that the agent never mentioned the heritage order on our recently purchased house despite him being present at a meeting with our builder to discuss our renovation plans. Half the house is exposed to the weather and vermin, covered only with sarking, which was obviously a high priority to fix. He told us it was a simple matter to address, omitting to let us know that the Vendor’s plans to do this had been rejected several times by the WSC on heritage grounds. He told us incorrectly the house was built in 1930s. It was built in 1955. He was forceful in getting our sale (saying ‘Snooze you lose’ )across the line. I think It would have been ethical to inform us of the difficulties associated with this particular property despite Caveat Emptor. It has made me very cynical and perhaps goes someway to justify the generally low opinion that the public have of real estate agents.

We bought our property through Sam Lindsay and we sold our property through Sam Lindsay. His knowledge, approach and integrity is exactly what we look for in an agent. He and his team deserve all the success they have achieved. You need to trust your agent and you need to know that your agent is working for you as well as the buyer to ensure they are both satisfied with the result. There is no pressure in his sales technique but at the same time he is diligent and always working towards the result. The whole process from listing to exchange was about 7 or 8 weeks. On an 11 acre country property 20 minutes out of Bowral is an exceptionally quick campaign.
