Recently earning his Masters of Arts in Media and Communications from the University of New England Armidale, Matthew brings a fresh perspective to the industry, coupled with years of experience in media and marketing. Originally hailing from Sydney and Gloucester (England), Matthew has seamlessly transitioned into local life in Bega, establishing strong family ties and making meaningful contributions to the community. As an avid sports enthusiast, Matthew has been involved with Tathra Rugby League Football Club, where he introduced the concept of Ladies Day to honour the remarkable women in our lives. Also, he was the innovator of a club partnership with an English Rugby League Club, London Chargers, allowing a player exchange between England and Australia. Beyond his professional achievements, Matthew is deeply involved in community initiatives, serving as a dedicated member of the Bega Show Society Committee pioneering the beloved Bega BBQ Smokeout Competition and helping with the marketing/social media advertisement of the show. Playing an integral role in our team, Matthew’s expertise was recently recognised at the 2024 Elders NSW/ACT Awards, where he was nominated for Digital Presence of the Year and Marketing Excellence. Matthew’s dedication to excellence extends to his service to clients, having worked with esteemed brands such as MasterCard, Barbeques Galore, Fox Sports, Discovery Network, and Colliers International, ensuring their marketing implementations and brand awareness campaigns were executed with precision and impact. Rodney McDonald joined the sales team at Elders Bega in February 2010. Rod grew up in Bega, and his family has strong ties to the area. He is mindful that for most people, real estate is not a purely economic exercise, in most cases it involves moving out a much loved family home and into a new one. He aims to make the experience of moving home as stress free and enjoyable as possible. In August 2011, Rod made the next step of buying a share in the business, effectively putting his money where his mouth is with his belief the Bega Valley will continue to grow and develop over the next few years. Rod regularly appears in the top 100 Salespeople list for the Elders network nationwide. In July 2016 Elders announced he had the 5th highest number of settled sales in NSW/ACT for the first 6mths of the year amongst Principals in the Elders Network. He has brought a focus to digital media into the office, striving to bring up the standards of Real Estate marketing in the Valley.
