Unfortunately, our experience purchasing through Campbell Moore has been extremely distressing and financially devastating for our family. After settlement, we discovered extensive termite damage and live termite activity throughout the property that was not apparent to us during inspections. We also observed that certain affected areas appeared to have been covered by sheeting and obstructed by moving boxes during the pre-settlement inspection, which in our opinion prevented the extent of the damage from being visible at the time. We are now facing thousands upon thousands of dollars in pest treatment, replacement of damaged timbers and further investigations into whether parts of the structure are even viable. As a normal working mum and dad family, these are costs that are simply not financially manageable or something we ever expected to face immediately after settlement. Given the circumstances, we believe responsibility should be taken for the situation and the costs now being imposed on our family. This has been an incredibly upsetting experience and one we would never want another buyer to go through. We strongly encourage all buyers to undertake extremely thorough due diligence and obtain comprehensive pest and building inspections before purchasing any property What has been most upsetting about our experience is that after settlement, Campbell advised us during a phone call on 16/05/2026 that he was aware of live termites at the property and that the vendor had informed him approximately three weeks earlier. This was extremely concerning to hear given we had met with him prior to settlement and no mention was made of active termite activity at the property. We are now dealing with live termites, termite damage and significant unexpected rectification costs as a family with young children. We are currently obtaining professional inspections and legal advice regarding the matter.
