Unfortunately, I wouldn’t recommend this agent based on my experience. I gave two stars because our block was eventually sold. From the beginning, it felt like very little effort was made beyond listing our land on the usual platforms and waiting for offers. Having worked with other real estate agents before, we know how much difference a proactive agent can make through marketing, following up with buyers, negotiating, and working hard to secure the best possible price. We didn’t experience that here. When an offer finally came in, instead of negotiating for a better price, we felt pressured to accept an amount that was below what we had clearly stated we were hoping to achieve. The timing made it feel as though the approaching end of the exclusive listing period was influencing the advice we were being given. When I explained that the offer was a bit low and that we wanted to consider our options, the conversation became uncomfortable. Rather than discussing our concerns professionally, the response came across as rude and dismissive, including the comment, “Then you should have told me so.” This was particularly frustrating because we had already communicated our expected price from the start. After that, she asked me what price I was willing to accept so she could work towards it. It was surprising to be asked this at that point our block had already been advertised for over a few weeks and we had discussed our expectations. Also, a building company contacted her about our block. She told them to contact me directly instead. Later, when I told her I wanted to consider that company’s interest alongside the existing offer, she became defensive and said they should have contacted her directly because she was representing me. The communication was often dismissive and arrogant at times. I’ve worked with other agents over the years, and this was by far the least positive experience I’ve had.
