Recently, I found myself in an absolutely terrible situation, where I had been duped by a rogue tenant whom I had helped out of kindness. Enter Chris Afsari of Harris Tripp. Actually, Harris Tripp were recommended to me by a good friend who had used them decades ago. Naturally, I thought that the agency had probably changed hands by now. However, that turned out not to be the case! It turns out they are just the same, which is really nice to know. So while I proceeded to tribunal, Chris got everything sorted at the property, and removed the tenant once and for all. Words cannot express how grateful I am to Harris Tripp, and particularly Chris for his kindness, his professionalism, his undying support and much-needed diplomacy in what was a truly horrendous situation. Had a great experience so far, Chris slightly over priced my property as all agents do to get your business, but still worked with me and got my place rented in a short time with what seams great reference on my tenants which to me means more than the dollar value, and hopefully time will also tell if tenants are as what seams to be great reference.

My wife and I needed a local agent with on the ground knowledge of the market in Sydney's Inner West for our new investment property in Ashfield. Being both "new" landlords as well as renters ourselves we wanted someone who had great reviews from both sides. Someone who knows that the best relationships are built on trust over the long term. Chris and the Team at Harris Tripp ticked all the boxes. Chris encouraged us to compare the team to other agents but even this just reinforced our view we had met the right person for the job. Once we engaged the team, Chris personally kept in contact throughout the settlement and actively supported us during final handover. He gave pragmatic advice on small changes and other additions we chose to make to a property we would want to live in ourselves - and maybe even will once the kids are fully grown! No question was off limits and he gave his opinion taking into account our personal goals and views. And we had plenty! But Chis responded quickly, concisely and openly to them all. The property was rented well above our expectations but not so high that it was out of reach or missed the market. As one of a number of properties in a new build we has a lease in place in less than a week from listing and only two from final settlement. The service we received as tenants in a very tight market from Cate Graham at Harris Tripp was absolutely fantastic. Cate was professional, polite, accurate, responsive and respectful. Often as tenants you feel like you're on the wrong side of the transaction but Cate recognised that we were strong tenants and treated us accordingly and gave one of our young adult children the opportunity to become a co-lessee and thereby start his own rental history. Thank you Cate, you are in a different league to your competitors.
