TERRIBLE Communication - Disappointing and Upsetting experience.
Via Dhi Vig at Ivy Realty, I puchased the property in Hope Island September 2023.
I had a pre inspection and accordingly several issues were discussed with Dhi before the settlement. (The seller was even at home on the pre inspection day. No notice was given by Dhi) All issues were agreed with the seller and confirmed before the settlement.
On the settlement day, I attended the property after the settlement in the late arvo and observed that the seller still moving out and noticed the property was damaged (Some plumbing issues, Sever Water leak, gate and wall damage). Some unexpected/critical damage and some conditions were not remained the same as per discussed and agreed.
I rang Dhi straight away to inform what was happening. He replied that he would speak to the seller, but he couldn't do much as he was away in Melbourne. Later on, Dhi said he could not get hold of the seller. Seriously? The agent was unable to speak to the seller? Who am I supposed to speak to then? Is the agent meant to be the one who is responsible for communication for both parties?
Also, I was advised that Dhi was unable to handover the key as he was away to Melbourne and would arrange someone from the office who could hand over a key to me on the settlement day. No one turned up for key handover and I had to receive a key from the seller directly. No notice given.
I experienced a terrible communication breakdown between the seller and the agent which caused the critical damage to the property between pre inspection and the settlement day. I understood that Dhi was away, but the fact that he couldn't get hold of the seller was not what I expected and it did not make any sense at all.
OVERALL, as a HOME buyer, it was really disappointing and upsetting experience.
