We were extremely fortunate to have chosen Tony Dekker as agent for the sale of our rural property on the Mid North Coast of NSW. It turned out to be a horrendous time to have placed the property on the market. We were in the midst of a terrible drought, so the paddocks looked at their worst. Then bushfires threatened the area for weeks, burning through more than 12,000 hectares nearby, but sparing our well-positioned property. Various inspections were cancelled because of smoke closing our road, while others were cancelled due to fire danger. In typical Australian fashion, the drought was broken by heavy rains which closed some access roads and again hindered inspections. Then COVID arrived and in-person auctions were prohibited.
