I have read the wonderful reviews about Courtney, but it is with dismay that I need to express my disappointment in the way that the purchase of my daughter’s house through Courtney was conducted. My daughter submitted a contract for the purchase of a property with the inclusion of a condition that the house be cleaned prior to settlement. Her solicitor said that this was reasonable; however, Courtney informed her that her contract whilst monetary acceptable was not signed due to this condition. After numerous unanswered calls to Courtney, my daughter was finally able to speak with her and rescind the clause, but was told that another open house was being scheduled and she was not going to revisit the contract with the seller with the deleted clause. At the following open house, Courtney was heard telling interested people that there had been a contract, but the buyers “were difficult” and that if other contracts were presented above what my daughter had offered (Courtney gave an approximate), they would be presented. Unfortunately, in my opinion, this is not honest nor conducting business with integrity. My daughter was extremely upset that in this current market and the difficulty first home buyers have that a real estate agent would conduct herself in this way. My daughter did purchase the house for tens of thousands of dollars more which places a strain on their lives. Then on final inspection before settlement, a hole in the ceiling appeared which was patched up, but not painted. The house was not clean, and the family spent one week cleaning it. Courtney appeared to not be concerned at all. Thank you, Courtney, for the lovely gift on settlement day, but I would have preferred a person who conducted themselves with integrity.
