There were two things that were important to us, firstly the selection of the real-estate agency and secondly the person that was representing us. We knew people who were happy with Lewis Carr and we observed over the previous twelve months that they had sold a great many houses just like ours in Kellyville and nearby suburbs for quite good values. They seemed to be a well-run medium sized agency, we did not want to use a one man band or a chain and wanted an agency whose customer base was largely people looking for houses just like ours. We had read that agents were referred to a facilitators, not sales people anymore and we did not want someone selling our house who was only good at opening the door at open houses and just answering questions, so on meeting Andrew Patman we challenged him on this and we were very impressed by the cut of his jib. We met with a couple of agents and they all generally sing the same song, however with Andrew he professionally demonstrated a thorough knowledge of the area, was confident with pricing, the demographic that would be interested in our house and how he would market it, and most importantly that he was a salesman. So on giving Andrew the go ahead the house was sold in a week, the message to the market was spot on and very effective, there was a very solid response to the advertising with nearly thirty groups through the house in that week proving Andrew to be correct in his strategy and the strength of Louis Carr to draw significant numbers of potential buyers to view the property. On Saturday afternoon following the open house and on Sunday morning Andrew worked tirelessly with interested buyers and ourselves backwards and forwards which resulted by midday Sunday with both a very happy purchaser and seller.
