On balance a disappointing experience.

Based on our first interaction with Peter, we were left with a very positive feeling. Peter seemed head and shoulders above other agents in terms of his approach, style, communication and presentation. During the subsequent negotiation phase, however, Peter's self interest left us with a bitter taste in our mouths to the point he tried to push is to a higher uncomfortable price point arguing this would avoid him having to sacrifice commission. As soon as the O&A was signed, we neither saw or heard anything further from Peter. He simply washed hands of us having got what he wanted handing us off to others working for his agency. As part of the final inspection just prior to settlement we highlighted damage to the property that had not previously been highlighted to us. We received very little support and only after pushing our case did we receive a token amount of money to assist with covering the costs. When we moved in it became apparent that the recycling bin was almost entirely full with the previous owners rubbish. We highlighted this in an email to the agent but received no response. The 'hamper' received as a completion gift appeared to be an afterthought comprising for the most part items cobbled together from the local supermarket that we will not use. The experience overall was very poor and a fraction of our previous experience when we purchased our last property in Woodvale. We would not use Peter or Mint Real Estate for the future sale of this or any other property based on our experience.
