Started really well but the finish wasn't great
Meryl certainly had experience with sales in the area and had a reasonable client database which assisted in her getting a large number of people through the door. A great house, a good Agent and the fact that we were prepared to meet the market, resulted in a very quick sale. Meryl was very good at keeping in touch in the lead up to the property going on the market and I could not fault her on her efforts and enthusiasm at this point of the process but unfortunately, things weren't quite as smooth after we accepted an offer. There was a bit of an issue with an adjustment being made to the contract without going through the conveyancer but Meryl was very professional and accepted the blame with this mishap that really was the fault of her colleague. Unfortunately though, at the time of settlement, despite Meryl/Agency receiving formal notification that Settlement was booked in and had then taken place, we had to chase the balance of our deposit (minus the Agent's commission). Despite leaving a message on Meryl's phone to ask what was happening with our money (the day after settlement), we never received a return phone call. Not even to check that it had been sorted out. Part of the selling process is to ensure that the funds are handed over to the vendor and it seemed rather strange to us that this process had to be initiated by us. We assume the new owners were welcomed into their new home but we received no confirmation of the keys being handed over or even a phone call to congratulate us on the final sale of the property or a thank you for using My Property Consultants.
