Joe tried to push me to reduce a reasonable asking price.
Don’t choose Joe Recep/NG Farah to sell your property - I had the misfortune of being represented by them for the sale of a house that belongs to my parents, and the experience took a huge toll on me. I don't take any pleasure writing this, especially as someone in the market for a property myself and therefore likely to deal with the company in question. However, transparency and honest reviews are important.
If I had listened to Joe, I’d have sold the house for at least $100,000 less than the final sale price - this is enough of a reason to look elsewhere! I had two critical problems: 1) lack of responsiveness, 2) a manufactured sense of urgency/catastrophe that was used to make a case for reducing asking price. I communicated an irreconcilable loss of trust to NG Farah management, and I have documentation that exhibits acknowledgement of wrongdoing. I trust easily, in the agent and in the process - I wasn't burdensome as a client, taking only a couple of minutes or a text per week to be updated. But it began with Joe not answering a text message, and subsequent attempts by phone/text to reach him (he answered on two occasions and told me he'd call me back...not that he was away from the office...or sick...but that'd he call me back, which he didn't!) - I'm still confused by this "ghosting." Professionalism entails either reaching out, or having your admin or assistant do so to notify that you're away, to assure that someone else is still performing tasks that equal to a $~30K job. I was horrified, I still am. Once I threatened to pull out of the arrangement with Joe's assistant Rebecca and other NG Farah management (Adrian and Peter), and they therefore stood to lose the *whole* commission, a buyer came along, and without any fuss at all, offered exactly what I was asking for (a reasonable price based on the valuations of many agents), and so we proceeded with the sale based on reduced commission and marketing rates. Find someone that's honest.
