Really disorganised and lack of communication
I applied for my property back in mid-December, and was told my application would be forwarded to the landlord. I did not hear back until mid-January (would have happily moved in over the new year period while I was off work) for me to re-submit some documents which means it was never reviewed properly or sent off. Once approved there was an all fired rush to have my deposit in by the end of the day and was getting multiple follow up text messages from the agent asking if I had sent yet. Once the agent had my money, I barely heard from her again apart from her asking me to come on here and give her a 5 star review. 3 days out from my moving date, I had a call from a new agent from the real estate saying she was now my new property manager, and asking me to push back my key pick-up day to the day after. I had already arranged time off, utilities to be connected, removalists, and family members organised their days off to also help me. Even though I pushed the day back to pick up my keys, I was told I could not get them until the afternoon. I went to work but had family waiting around to help move once I could get the keys. At 4pm I received a call from the agent asking me to push back my moving date by a further week as the landlord still had all his stuff there and the house was a mess and unsuitable. I explained my situation and how I could not push it back longer. I was offered $200 off my first week in rent due to the extensive amount of cleaning required - but I still paid rent and utilities on the days I could not have access. I was not given access to my garage for the first 4 days as I was not given the remote, and now 3 weeks in I still have no access to my letterbox as the real estate still don’t have the key from the landlord… and no ingoing inspection has been conducted by the real estate despite the extensive mess and damages to the property that I could potentially be blamed for when I leave.
