Potentially one of the worst experiences I have had to date. Highly unprofessional, and I question the legality of some of his conduct. I put an offer well over asking on a property before the deadline (of 3 days), was told congrats you've been selected, and then received a call the following day stating "actually we're going to do one more open inspection this sunday". After the next open inspection I was called and asked to up my offer by $2000. Even though I was ALREADY OVER ASKING. He refused to submit an official counter offer (after saying he would). Could this be because of some laws surrounding over asking offers, and not being allowed to counter for more money?? Hmm The contract was illegitimate. The deceased owner was still listed as the selling party. Not to mention other errors my solicitor picked up. He failed to let me know when I could collect the keys on the settlement date. Didn't hear from him at all, and didn't answer the phone. After contacting my solicitor, who then contacted Simon, did I hear back. When I arrived for the keys he looked shocked and still wasn't expecting me. On arriving at the house, I notice a large crack in the front window. I called Simon instantly and was essentially told "too bad". Absolutely disgusting. Even after I begrudgingly upped my offer by the 2k that was demanded. If it wasn't for covid, and trying to buy a house for 3 years I would have told this agent to shove it. I dont think they realise how close I was to pulling the pin. It's been some time now, and some of the other disgraceful things have thankfully left my memory. However, I would never recommend this agent to ANYBODY. buying or selling.
