I bought a property in Hastings parade North Bondi from Ric Serrao in 1992. At that time, I found Ric to be personable and appreciated that he was working overtime to help me achieve my goal of owning a property in the Bondi area. I promised him the listing were I ever to sell, because it was clear he was working hard for his vendor to put together a deal they would be happy with, and he was working beyond normal working office hours to make the sale happen for me. Ric was forced to wait thirty-one years for that listing and when I wasn't living in the property, Ric’s agency periodically managed the property for me. It gave me confidence to know that behind the scenes, Ric was looking out for me. When I finally decided to sell, I put the property in Ric’s hands not just because of my initial pledge, but because he has been a dominant force in Sydney’s eastern suburbs for decades, he lives and breathes the Bondi market. Ultimately it concluded with the best result I could have hoped for. The property sold well beyond my well researched reserve price. Although he had ten interested parties holding contracts and many of them likely to bid at the auction, Ric was still working hard in the eleventh hour, doing his best to help a couple who were late comers to see the property. He made a last-minute appointment for them, helped them organize a deposit bond and I was receiving agreeable terms from my solicitor ten minutes before my auction began! You might think that working for decades as a real estate agent might dampen enthusiasm, but I can assure you that Ric still has the vigor and drive that he had when I met him thirty-one years ago, still going the extra mile for both seller and buyer. His personable nature is obvious and I can testify to his integrity, which is the reason for his longevity in the industry.
