If you’ve heard the expression ‘real estate agents cannot be trusted’ you would understand my concern when my parents announced that they had acquired the services of Sebastian Gutierrez without me having done the ‘screening’ process. Sebastian not only disproved this, he went above and beyond to sell my parents’ home. Sebastian was more than just professional and courteous, he was also sensitive to their particular situation. I personally felt as though he was a trusted family member rooting for my parents. He was always available and willing to discuss developments at the drop of a hat. He came up with many strategies and approaches regarding marketing and promotion (auctioning, what sites to use, featuring and how to best display price in order to get buyers interested, etc) and at times when my parents became discouraged with the current market, he did not allow them to lose hope. Throughout the process, I got an insight into how much expertise Sebastian had in terms of negotiation, seeing him conduct this so effectively on my folks’ behalf. For me, something that reinforced my trust in Sebastian was the manner in which he talked about the ‘other side’ ie, the buyers. Although he was representing my parents, it was evident that he showed respect and treated potential buyers as people and not just customers. Sebastian came highly recommended to my dad and rightly so. At the end of the day, we couldn’t be happier with both the outcome as well as the experience.
