Earlier this year my wife and I decided that after a period of 57 years in the home that we had built and in which we had raised our family, the time had come to move on and downsize. It was a logical choice for us to first approach Chris Downie to act as our selling agent as we had known him since he was in Primary School with our children and we had seen him join his mother in Richardson & Wrench, Northbridge and rise through the ranks of that business to now lead it. From the outset we found Chris to be on top of the trends of the then current market in our suburb which had by then peaked and was starting to fall. The local market continued its gradual downhill trend during the lead up to the auction but his guidance and advice enabled us to ultimately achieve a sale price which was just slightly below the estimate he had first expressed but which was well within the parameters we had initially felt to be reasonable and satisfactory to us. Chris’s professionalism, experience with the local market and overall advice were such that we had no reason for us to doubt that we done the right thing.
