Pros: May was always very prompt and honest with her communication, she had a good eye for simple ideas to make the property more appealing, and always did what she said she would do and was pro-active in following up on lingering and outstanding items. She helped me out when I wasn’t getting any traction with getting certification help for my building report. Cons: Final sale price was lower than the range May assessed the property to be in. We potentially missed out on on some higher offers (but lower at the time), whilst waiting on the current highest offer. I think I would have liked May to be stronger in her recommendations to me about going with an offer that may have been lower but the buyers seemed more certain and committed. The building inspection report done by the buyer revealed some unapproved works on my house which I didn’t realise were not certified. I should have thought to have had this done at the time of my purchase of the house years before. I think I would have liked to have known about this before the sale, and would have liked May to have asked me the question if I knew if the bathroom and window renovation was certified. In hindsight I would recommend anyone selling a Darwin house (with it’s strict building compliance regulations) to get their own building inspection report done, and rectify and problems earlier. In saying that May was extremely helpful in getting the building renovation works post approved. It was a depressed buyers market that I was selling in, and the buyers knew that and were very aggressive in their approach to the sale and what they could get out of it. Overview The whole process took about 6 months. I contacted May in late June 2016, her reply was prompt. We corresponded via phone, email and text and in a month I was able to travel to Darwin and meet May, and implement some of her recommendations for cosmetic improvements to my property.
