As a long term landlord dealing with Select Property has always been a pleasure. The agents are friendly, efficient and professional in all their dealings with both the tenant and landlord. I would always use them.

The agent required me to pick up the keys from their office between 3pm and 5pm the day before I move in. Upon arrival, I was given a whole bunch of keys like ten of them and was told to figure out which one is the front door keys by myself and made me sign the receipt letter of keys to the unit I signed lease agreement for. On the day of moving in, I could not open the front door with any of the keys after trying every key twice, including the letterbox and balcony. I realised the agent gave me the complete wrong set of keys. I called the agent immediately, was told they would bring the correct keys in one hour after they finish the open inspections. All of my belongings were lying in the street in the melting hot weather. I received a call from the agent after waiting for one hour and was told they would call LockSmith for me and asked me to go to their office to collect the correct keys. I mentioned I really cannot leave all my belongings with the two removalists. Then the agent brought the correct keys to the unit after another half an hour. I asked the agent to pay me back for the 1.5 hours’ removalist cost I paid to the removalist. They said it is just a mistake/ error on their job to give me the wrong keys but they will not take the responsibility for this and certainly will not pay me back at all. My moving on that day was completely behind the schedule. I was totally exhausted. I asked the agent to be fair and reasonable. I understand everyone makes mistakes but as an adult, you should take the responsibility for your mistake especially because of your fault, the other person suffered direct financial loss, time loss, stress and inconvenience. Select property, my question to you, is this really how you want to run your business on the property market by taking advantage of the tenant on stressful moving day? Is it really worth ruining your business reputation being irresponsible and unethical for the couple of hundred dollars?

My whole experience with agents managing my investment property since about 20 years ago was really yuck and involved moving from agent to agent and being palmed off form the most senior person to get awful and incompetent service down the line and constantly wondering 'why am I paying them this money?". Then one day I literally walked in to Select Property Lane Cove out of pure exasperation and its been fantastic ever since.
