A good agent's duty is to educate the vendor, i.e. myself and my wife, to reconcile on what we think our place is worth and what the market is willing to pay. We recently made the decision to sell our much loved and newly renovated home in Freshwater in pursuit of a quieter life away from Sydney with our young children. We observed that SEA auction boards were springing up everywhere locally and were being slapped with 'SOLD!' signs. James himself responded to our initial email enquiry promptly and so began a very fortunate experience. From our first meeting with James it was obvious SEA have a passion for realestate. James' enthusiasm and motivation was infectious and his knowledge of the market proved exceptional. At no point did we feel like 'just a number'- James' communication skills are exceptional. He was unwavering in his attention and his professional confidence, humour and unflappable demeanour kept us hopeful and calm during a notoriously stressful period- selling your home! I’ve had multiple dealings with James and most other agents in the area over the past 18 months, as we’ve searched for a property on the Northern Beaches. James is easily the most knowledgeable and professional, and as a buyer I really appreciated the transparency with which he operated and the advice he offered throughout the buying process. James was the only agent who religiously followed up each and every one of my (many) attendances at inspections, and who genuinely took the time to listen to my reasons for liking or disliking a property. Unlike some agents, calls with James didn’t feel like I was one of many on a call list he had to get through that day. On a number of occasions we had initially dismissed a property, only to reconsider after James took the time to help us imagine the potential with some simple renovations that we couldn’t see ourselves. No other agent ever took the time to do this, and this skill must have served his vendors very well over the years. When the time comes for me to sell, James is the only one I would trust to sell my house.
