My wife & I went with the Will Torres team for the sale of our house after considering a list of agents in detail. We made our choice based on the team's enthusiasm, real estate knowledge of the Wakerley and surrounding areas, and even the team's impressive dress code. An extra item was Will's awareness of extra factors such as general economic conditions (read American tariffs), and timing of elections & public holidays ie a likely sale timeline. Our experience purchasing our home in Belmont with our agent Jack was disappointing. After signing the contract, we attempted to reach out via phone calls and emails, but received no communication for two days. When we finally got a call from Nikki, Jack’s assistant, we initially thought it was an update. However, she mistakenly believed she was speaking to a different prospective buyer. Once she realized the mistake, she apologized and informed us that the contract would be signed that day (which it was). We then notified Jack that we were going to make a deposit of $80,000. After completing the transfer, we emailed him twice requesting confirmation that the deposit had been received, but we received no response for two days. Later, we were informed that the confirmation email had been sent the previous day, but we never received it. According to them, it had been sent to the wrong email address—despite the fact that they had successfully communicated with us multiple times before. On the day of settlement, Jack was supposed to meet us at Torres office to collect the key however Jack was in a meeting and unable to attend. A receptionist told us that Jack would call us afterward, but he never did. Instead, he reached out the following day—not to discuss anything related to our purchase, but to ask if the previous owner could come by to collect chairs they had left behind. When Jack wanted to, he’s a good agent. He really needs to improve his communication and look after the buyer more.
