The agent failed to detect a leaking hot water system for 6 months despite multiple bills warning of a potential leak. The agent did not inspect the outside of the house during an inspection. The leak was eventually discovered by a new tenant. It took 32 days for a new hot water system to be installed, the agent arranged only one quote. I paid above the market price. Vine did not bill new tenants for water usage resulting in a delayed discover of a new concealed leak. When I requested full compensation from the agent, I did not receive a response. Vine did not take a photo of the water meter on vacate nor were they able to tell me the reading. The agent was indifferent when I raised this as a concern. On vacate, the agent failed to detect a large chip (6.5x3.5cm) on a bedroom wall and when questioned, tried to tell me it was wear-and-tear. An unauthorised payment was made to their supplier by my agent. When I asked for reimbursement, both the agent and the owner did not respond. For more than a year non-compliant blind cords and a switchboard went unnoticed. Vine exposed everyone to significant risk. I arranged to have a faulty smoke alarm replaced under warranty, the agent did not follow-up to ensure this occurred. Vine’s service charter state that they “inspect completed work of value > $500”. I had 5 such jobs done, but no inspection occurred. I raised this issue with the agent, but she did not respond. Vine takes few photos at an inspection. Whenever I question the whereabouts of an item I left in the house, the agent asks the tenants. Vine heavily relied on tenants to manage my property even though it is only 500m from their shop. Their agents lack judgement on when they must go from passive to active management. The communication skills of my agent were poor. When issues were raised, her responses were indifferent, disingenuous or towards the end, the agent stop replying to my concerns. The owner was informed of the issues but took no interest until too late.
