I recently purchased a house through Karen from Voglwalpole Estate Agents. The initial lead up to the sale and settlement was friendly, professional and pretty straightforward. At the final inspection, the vendors had moved out and left the place in an untidy condition and notable damage to the walls. I flagged these issues to Karen who assured me that the vendors had not finished yet and would have the property back to the original condition it was when I first inspected/signed the contract of sale. I trusted Karen to follow up these issues with the vendor and have them rectified for final settlement. Unfortunately this wasn’t the case. On the day of settlement I met with a colleague of Karen’s onsite, to be told that settlement had been postponed and that they would send me the key code to access the property once it was settled, as the colleague had other things to attend. When settlement finally occurred, I walked through the property to find the issues initially flagged with Karen had not been rectified, the place was dirty, the garden was messy, there were major tap leaks in the kitchen and laundry, plaster damaged walls and lots of rubbish had also been left behind. I messaged Karen straight away but unfortunately did not hear back from her for some time. I felt that as soon as settlement occurred, they turned their back and wanted nothing else to do with the matter at hand. I found this to be extremely unprofessional, with no duty of care on Karen’s behalf. Needless to say, extremely disappointing.
