Anthony was great! He allowed us to come view the house when ever we required. He organised for me to recieve the house key earlier which saved me from moving my furniture twice ( because i had just sold my old home) he even delivered the key to me on a public holiday! He was very knowledgeable and answered any questions i had. I would definitely use Anthony again.
If we had our time again, both my wife and I agree we should’ve gone with a local agent. Someone who was across the market in our local area. Anthony seemed friendly & knowledgeable upon our first meeting. However it became apparent that his knowledge of our suburb was limited as he tried to convince us our sale figure was 20% overpriced after two months on the market. Even though on our initial meeting he priced the house $20K over what we were asking. We did however manage to sell. Once we accepted an offer, Anthony all but disappeared. When we reached out to him for help in contacting our buyer (after two finance date extensions) to negotiate a section 27. He was unhelpful and “too busy” to assist us until our conveyancer prompted him to get involved. Prior to settlement he was also “too busy” to arrange a final inspection for the buyer and instead sent them to our house unannounced!! When we questioned him about this his response was “that’s cheeky of him” “I was going to take him through on Friday” ( which was Settlement day!). Purplebricks may be cheaper due to not working on commission, however in our experience it seems this can also be a disadvantage. Due to the fact that the agent gets a standard fee per sale regardless of delivery of service. A local agent working on commission, obviously has a vested interest in getting the BEST result not just ANY result.
Anthony was hugely helpful throughout the entire process, making himself available to meet onsite and over the phone at short notice. As a first home buyer I can honestly say his professionalism was a big factor in my final decision to purchase the property. I Would highly recommend him.
