Right from the start, both Clay and Nick were extremely friendly and professional in their approach, they provided an extraordinarily high level of detail and ongoing communication, and the regular updates we received were second to none. It is fair to say that Clay in particular went well over and above the call of duty during the sales campaign to ensure we got a good result. We were thrown a few "curve balls" during our campaign as the market reacted to the recent interest rate rises, and there was a general feeling of buyer uncertainty / hesitancy in the air, but Clay and Nick remained focussed on the job at hand, diligently sticking to their tried and tested marketing campaign process throughout. I first met Clay as the seller’s agent for a property I was considering in Maroubra. Clay responded promptly to my various queries while he was doubtless juggling other enquiries and working on other properties. He courteously showed my local “inspector” through the property and patiently answered questions. As I was negotiating I developed the sense that he was a straight shooter and reasonable. From me spotting the place, through inspections, accessing a builders report and settling on price … about 12 days. It was a pleasure to have Clay as the intermediary on this. Clay had an excellent understanding of the market conditions and the buyer’s expectations and was able to deliver the best possible outcome he promised under the arguably most difficult circumstances in history of sales. Firstly, we knew we had fairly high expectations and with a strict short deadline for sale. Secondly, it was in the middle of winter with unfortunate spell of bad weather which was cold, rainy and windy. Thirdly, it was an old house with a difficult family of tenants living in it. And most incredibly this was all happening during the harshest lockdown in the thick of the pandemic for the entire campaign. I can’t imagine how he managed the property inspections with so many potential buyers but only allowed one at a time with strict lockdown restrictions (face mask, hand sanitizer etc), in a cold windy winter’s day in the pouring rain. And it all had to be done in front of the difficult tenants who were very unhappy with the inspections. We were fully aware of the impossible conditions and literally didn’t hold much hope for a sale. However, Clay’s sense of commitment and determination, positive attitude in the face of challenge and adversity, working tirelessly day and night proved to us that this young man was capable to achieve anything he promised to his clients. He provided market update every day but never gave us any pressure. Instead he always told us he had more options and would try harder the next day to achieve a better outcome. We became good friends along the way and I literally told him regardless of the outcomes, a sale or not, he would always be our agent if we have 10 properties to sell in the future.
