The real estate gods favoured us in the selling of our investment property. We had Diane as our adviser throughout the process, Phil as the auctioneer, and their daughter Alana as capable assistant. The place in Rye was our home for twelve years. Di and her staff then handled the rental of the property (at a rate above what another Rye agent had quoted) for four years, and we were very satisfied with every aspect of management including vetting tenants, maintenance and monthly financial reports. It was therefore a no-brainer as to who we would engage to sell the property.Di was well prepared for our initial meeting with a folder with relevant sales results in the area, a marketing strategy (brochure and internet), open for inspection times and a five-week campaign culminating in a Saturday auction. Given a clear overview of the sales process, we were very confident and accepted her commission proposal without haggling. She’s worth every cent!With her many years of experience, Di knows exactly what buyers look for and what turns them off, and things that vendors think might need attention but which are irrelevant. Her advice on action required to maximize the auction result was practical and in line with what we thought needed to be done. We had the benefit of drawing on her list of reliable and skilled local tradies. The whole interior was painted and it came up a treat, a builder did some repairs and we mulched the garden. Di was adamant that the empty house needed to be ‘styled,’ that is, furbished with the latest furniture and decor as though we were in residence. In a nutshell, Di and Phil are the best real estate agents that we have dealt with in our chequered experiences of buying and selling houses for over thirty years.
