Prior to entering real estate, Duncan ran his own electrical contracting business servicing both residential and commercial clients. Duncan’s vast experience as an electrician and business owner working with a range of clients meant that he entered real estate with a reputation for customer service, attention to detail and problem solving. Duncan has continued to build on that same warm and caring approach throughout his real estate career. Having worked on-site in the building industry for so many years, Duncan has the unique ability to offer valuable building-related insight and assistance to his clients. When he isn’t getting deals done for his clients and running his business, McMillan Estate Agents, Duncan cherishes his time ‘off the tools’. Duncan, along with his wife and daughter, are mad Richmond Tigers supporters and they love watching their “Tiges” together, especially with the recent premiership successes. Duncan enjoys time spent around the home on his bushland acreage up the hill in Lorne and tinkering on his vintage Mercedes Benz. He also loves putting in work at the home gym and hanging out down at the local beaches daily with his young family and his dog George, a handsome Hungarian Vizsla. If you look up the term ‘surf rat’ in the urban dictionary, you’ll find that it appropriately describes Duncan, he loves surfing the cold water waves along Victoria’s west coast. A long-held passion since his early teenage years.

Mr Duncan McMillan services were used to sell an inner suburb long standing family home. His enthusiasm and positive attitude made us feel well at ease. Due to his diligence and professionalism the property was sold. If required in the future we would have no hesitation to call upon Duncan’s services again.

Professional, Committed & Focussed

We found Duncan was able to clearly explain the process and follow through on any commitment made to us. He has a friendly yet determined demeanour and a practical attitude to what can be achieved. Duncan kept us informed of every development in the process from initial negotiations to the contract signing and property sale. Excellent communication and professional

Duncan recently sold my property in Seaholme. He knew the market really well and was accurate with his valuation. He worked hard in identifying potential buyers and building reports weekly on activity of interest. He was very easy to deal with and I’d highly recommend him.

I have no doubt another agent would not have been able to achieve a better result.

When we first decided to sell our property, we interviewed quite a few agents in the area. Duncan was the only one to identify our property’s strengths and weaknesses and formulate a strategy based the property, location and market conditions. He was also the only agent that gave us the impression that he wanted to sell the property at the best price, not just sell at any price so long as it sells. His attitude was always to get the most out of what he was doing. Since we lived a distance from the property, Duncan was able to organise all the trades to get the property up to a saleable condition and took a lot of work and hassle off our plates. Throughout the campaign he kept us well informed on who was looking at the property and what they were expecting, identified which buyers were serious and how to manage them. Come auction time, he was able to take advantage of all his knowledge and hard work up to that point and get the absolute best price for the property. The strategy that he implemented played to our advantage and I have no doubt another agent would not have been able to achieve a better result. I couldn’t recommend Duncan enough.

Duncan was very impressive and clearly very experienced.

We recently decided to sell our home in Altona North. It was the first and only house we have owned and as such, it was the first time we had sold a house. My wife met Duncan McMillan some time ago at open houses in the area. He immediately displayed an air of professionalism and honesty that made him stand out from other agents in the area. We started our campaign cautiously and with some trepidation as One Agency - Hobsons Bay was in its infancy. Duncan allayed our fears with his steadfast confidence and honesty throughout. We travelled overseas during the five-week campaign and Duncan’s constant email updates kept us well informed. It was evident to us that he took time to talk to potential buyers to help understand their buying needs and kept meticulous records to build a realistic picture of how the auction may play out. Our property was sold at auction with a fantastic result and above our expectations. It closely followed Duncan’s predictions, which again reiterated his intimate knowledge of real estate in the area and the buyer’s market. Friends of ours were present at the auction and commented later that as an auctioneer, Duncan was very impressive and clearly very experienced. We would highly recommend Duncan to anyone looking to sell their home.
