My wife and I first met Greg Ward about 18 years ago. We were impressed then with his can do attitude and he was very polite. We didn’t use the agency for whom he was working in those days as we didn’t go ahead with marketing our property. However, we were taken with him and always said that when we decided to sell next time we would certainly consider using him. We have just sold our house with his own agency, McGrath in Canberra. Once again he came across as a very positive person who knows the market. He recommended marketing our house in Queanbeyan with a price range. He suggested marketing using Zango and Realestate.com. He had suggested that we should looking for offers in the top half of our price range. After a couple of weeks and three or four open houses, only one interested buyer materialized and they were in the lower half of ourrange. He managed to get them up to almost half way. Greg also honoured his promise to renegotiate his sales commission downwards if we accepted the offer. We discussed it and decided that with the smaller commission the offer would leave us with very close to our anticipated net amount. So the house was sold in around three weeks and we were after a speedy sale so that we could move onto our new life near the coast. On reflection, the only thing which we probably should have done was to list it on Allhomes as well as Zango from the start. All things considered, we would recommend Greg to sell your home.
The most noticeable difference of buying from Greg and the team at McGrath was they were aware of buyers needs. The ads were always clear and gave us useful information about the properties before open houses, and every visit he and his team would follow up to see if it was the property we were looking for or if it wasn’t, why not? We’d then get a suggestion of a property that might fit our needs. As serious buyers, knowing someone was trying to find a property to sell us was noticeable. Greg’s knowledge of the local market was astounding and he made his support for his vendors clear in every conversation. The purchase process was easy and we knew what to expect every step of the way.
