Simply, I'm going to rave about Julie. I found myself in the position of selling my family home after Mum died.We'd rented with another agent and initially asked them to sell the place too. In a nutshell they gave us poor service and we felt the need to change agents. I had known Julie via our kids a few years ago and knew she was a "pretty good" agent, but when I started looking for agents I found her name consistently came at the top of the list. So I dropped her a line and asked if she could help, and after a chat with her, and her agreeing to take on the place, a weight lifted off my shoulders. My Mum had lived in the place for a few years when it really was too much for her. As a result, while the house and location are great, it was not very presentable. As I live away from Townsville I was really daunted by the task of getting it back into a sellable condition. This is where Julie came into her own - she was very quick and effective in identifying what needed to be done, could suggest people who could do the tasks and helped to coordinate them. I found the best approach was simply to do what Julie suggested to the letter. That included yard maintenance, house cleaning, inspections etc etc. Ultimately we sold the house at auction. Julie suggested a reserve which I had come to think was ambitious, but the house easily met the reserve and kept on going. In the end the house sold for more than $70K better than any offer we'd had under the previous agents. With the work Julie suggested, and a bit of lost time because I didn't change agents earlier, I reckon I'm at least $50K ahead of where I'd otherwise be. And, importantly for me, throughout that time I felt far more relaxed than I had done for months because I felt I had a steady, confident and competent hand at the wheel.
