After listing our property with another Agent for 4 months and not one offer, we decided to switch to Kris Sutcliffe after hearing very positive feedback about him via word of mouth. As buyers and sellers of multiple properties over several decades, we've come to discern and appreciate the ideal characteristics of a real estate agent, at least from a client's perspective. At a minimum, they need competence in the technical aspects of the role: up-to-date local market knowledge, detailed understanding of the property being sold/bought, and experience of the related issues of finance, legal, local authority approvals, and so on. However, the ideal agent would also have excellent inter-personal skills: for example, a professional manner, good communication, attentive, responsive and personable, but most importantly, be someone who treats their clients respectfully and not just as another sale to be won.
