When I met Leonie, I was very impressed with Leonie's market knowledge, spiel on how to sell my horse property and impressed with the marketing campaign. In the beginning, we had a lot of interest, and Leonie and her colleague were both attending the property for inspections and opens, however after a couple of months, leading into December 2022, it became clear that her colleague had become the lead agent, and the person who communicated with us. We became aware via reputable means, that it would be in our best interests to check our contract, as in all likelihood Leonie had signed us up for 12 months instead of 3 months, and to also do some further research as to her reviews. I take full responsibility for not checking the contract, we had signed for 12 months, and I did find reviews which were in line with what I was experiencing, lack of communication and lack of interest. I made some enquiries, and with not many options, asked Leonie if we could mutually dissolve the contract at 3 months, as I had not heard from her in weeks. This resulted in her screaming at me down the phone for approximately ten minutes. I had no opportunity to speak, she constantly interrupted me, therefore I had no choice but to terminate the call, as it was far from productive and so unprofessional. Following that call, we started to get offers and finally sold the house. I never spoke to Leonie on the phone again, and everything was via text or via her colleague. Leonie also refuted abusing a prospective buyer, losing a sale, despite getting that information firsthand from her colleague, and the current buyers nearly gave up on booking an inspection as Leonie didn't return their calls. Thankfully her colleague did. Leonie is not a fit and proper person to hold a licence, and I wouldn't recommend her to anyone. Reading other reviews, she is the queen of gaslighting, it's everyone else's problem, however I think it is time Leonie took some accountability.
Knowledge was amazing, was super friendly and thorough with every part of the process. I was very happy to have placed my trust in Leonie and her team and they achieved a result $30k over what I wanted.
Leonie stood out from all the other agents I interviewed. She came having done extensive research and had a definite strategic plan for my property that made complete sense. She took the time to explain everything and together we agreed how to proceed. Throughout the process she was available to answer all my questions and concerns. She advised me on what I needed to do to present my property to attract the right buyers and was always open and honest. Leonie and her team took the time to get to know prospective purchasers and communicated all feedback to me following each open house. Leonie went above and beyond accommodating prospective purchasers to ensure that the property was presented and maximise viewings for the right people. She believed in the uniqueness of my property, she did her homework and research so I felt confident to let her do her job that she does best. She tackled situations head on and was always three steps ahead. All staff were fantastic in their communication, were present, friendly and professional. Leonie achieved a price far beyond what I believe anyone else could have. She is great at relationship building and I would not have trusted anyone else. Finally her follow through after the cooling off period has continued to be first class. I would highly recommend Leonie Simmons and her agency and would use her again in a heartbeat.
Leonie is a very professional person and knows her job inside out. She was very open and honest with us on what we could expect to achieve right from the get go. All the staff were very helpful and made the whole process very easy for us. Best of all was their down to earth approach to real estate and they clearly know their roles. They were always there when contacted and if not replied as soon as they could. Best of all was that Leonie is very down to earth and we were able to have a good laugh about various issues as well. Worst experience ever. Once you sign that contract to sell she's a different person! We were supposed to be buying and selling through her. Instead after letting her sell our house she then went and sold the house we were supposed to be buying & moving in to. We went and spoke to the vendors after and they informed us she told them we couldn't get finance which was not the case. We've now been left renting and trying to find another house for our family to live.
Extremely poor communication throughout the entire process from this agent. Does not respond to emails sent when concerns are raised and instead chooses to ignore them without even the decency of a response. Whilst the admin staff were very helpful there was very little attention to detail, e.g. errors made in contract, forms sent to wrong conveyancer, incorrect commission listed in conveyancing documents. I have bought and sold a lot of properties over many years but this is the worse experience I have ever had in dealing with an agent even given the great price achieved for our property. I therefore cannot recommend this agent or her business.
Leonie is very good at selling her services to you - appears friendly, professional. You fall for it, sign up and that's when all communication (and indeed, effort) stops. She, and her team never provided updates on potential buyers, never contacted us to touch base about strategies or suggestions. We were never informed of what efforts, exactly, they made to attract buyers. All communication was initiated by me asking for updates, and eventually replied to by Leonie's colleague Chloe or the admin Brianna - but never Leonie (with 1 exception, when I strongly requested a reply specifically by her). Even if that's the agency process - Leonie gets new clients, then transfers all action to Chloe/Brianna - she never told us about such an arrangement. She just disappeared from the picture. At the end the block got sold - not thanks to Leonie's & team's efforts but because we discounted the price VERY heavily. We could've saved ourselves $7,000+ in fees, had we advertised privately at that low price. Regretfully, there was even a situation when legal threats were hurled at us, when we didn't want to put that low price we sold at in the sale agreement's extension (needed so to meet the settlement period) as the "vendor price" and "agent recommended price" - as we thought the publicly advertised price should be listed in that extended agreement. All pretence of politeness disappeared in those exchanges, and of course we quickly signed - in desperation to get it done and over with the whole unpleasant experience. Besides, who wants to be sued (for still unclear reasons) by the mighty Leonnie! She, who got us signed up to start with, and is apparently the face of the agency, didn't even contact us to say "congrats" on the sale - even that small gesture was delegated to Chloe and Brianna. Disappointed, relieved it's over. Do not recommend.
Leonie has always been honest about the sale of our house, and on time for all opens. It is one of the most stressful things we do, selling our home, and she has made the experience as painless as possible. I wish Leonie well in her future as an agent, and thank her for her help.
