I have bought four houses in my time and this has been the worst. I put a cash offer in and we agreed on a four week settlement. Peter rang to tell me that the vendors were waiting for another property to settle so could I push it out for another two weeks. Reluctantly I said yes as I am a single mum of 4 year old twins and I am new to WA. In the meantime I was trying to organise my furniture to be delivered from QLD and I asked if settlement could be brought forward by a day, I was told by Peter, there was no need and he would access the property for me allowing my furniture in on the Friday. Peter then confirmed this via email. The day before settlement when I was trying to organise getting to get removalists in, Peter advises me he would call me back. His wife Ali to call me back saying stating I couldn’t move in, or have access until the day after settlement. I had stated that I had discussed this weeks prior with Peter and he advised me that he would allow the removalist in, in which she excused me of lying, and that a Peter wouldn’t say such a thing. I was furious as I had to rearrange removalists last minute during covid. I advised Peter of this and I was very clear that I wanted the house to be cleaned and the items that were outlined in the final inspection be addressed. I was promised by Peter, the place would be cleaned and outstanding tasks rectified. When I got the keys I then went into the house to find that the items outlined hadn’t been resolved and the house was filthy. The oven, bathroom, blinds, windowsill, toilets and counters were filthy. I messaged and made Peter aware of this and he has ignored me. It is of my opinion that Peter tells you what you want to hear to get the sale done but he doesn’t actually communicate with the vendors or his wife Ali on what he has agreed too. My recommendation is to get everything in a contract because I don’t think he follows up on his promises. What should have been a happy moment has been soured.
